Marble Bathroom Tiles
Marbles give a luxurious feel to any bathroom. Marble tiles are very dense in nature and most durable. They need little maintenance once laid. When highly polished, these tiles can be slippery in wet areas. Different colored tiles can be used to create borders and patterns for an interesting effect.
Why Marble?
It may not be as strong as granite. It may not be as cheap as slate. But no other natural stone can match marble for its beauty and the prestige and value it adds to a home. Marble is quarried widely all over the world. As it is softer than granite, it is relatively easy to quarry and fabricate.
Where to use?
It can be used any where in a home, marble is most popular laid in bathrooms. Marble is used to construct vanities and sinks. Marble tiles are popular on floors and walls, even in showers and around tubs. In any wet area, marble should be sealed periodically to prevent staining and etching.
Maintenance:
Generally, marble is considered to be more attractive. It is warmer, classy but it needs a lot of maintenance. Polished marble can indeed be a wonderful material to floor a residence, but it has to be selected with a grain of salt. It much depends in which rooms of your apartment you intend to install the stone, the intensity of traffic they will be subject to, and how much care you’ll be taking of it. The tempo for maintenance is too high!
Types:
Marble is generally classified in color styles, which are fairly uniform from stone yard to stone yard. Crema Marfil, one of the most popular marble, is a rich creamy tan. Verde Empress is a green marble with dramatic white veining. But the list of colors is almost endless.
Cost:
It is often cheaper than granite, depending on where it originates. Tile prices vary widely from one pattern to the other. The art type tiles are at the high end, and they can cost from $5 per square foot up to $100.
